This is a great overnight park. Folks up front were very friendly and did everything possible to make sure our stay was enjoyable. They don't try to nickle and dime you to death. Laundry was free, which was a nice perk. Watching the barges go up and down the river was relaxing.

My husband booked here even though the reviews weren't that favorable and all turned out to be true. First of all, the road leading in is very steep. Hubby ignored my rule of never booking a place that has mountain in the title. Truck wanted to over heat just getting up the hill. Pay 45 bucks for a site. Pay additional 3 bucks if you use your air conditioner. Pay a refundable 10 bucks for the card to get in the gate. The folks who camped near us paid $3.00 for their dog. Ice comes in 5 lb bags and costs over $2.00. I wouldn't go back. Oh and they posted pictures of the bear on the door of the office as you leave. Didn't tell us about the bear before we checked in.

New owners took over the park in Nov. 2008 This is strictly a bare bones type of park. The road leading into the sites was very narrow. The pull thrus are very short. Big rigs would have a very difficult time maneuvering around. Fine for a overnight visit. Definitely not a destination park

Another one of KOA's burned out parks. Electric needs to be upgraded as the site we were assigned didn't have a workable ground (hubby is an electrician). Pool closes at 8pm and is always full of kids. There really needs to be adult time for us who don't travel with kids. If I come back through this area, I'd definitely try to find something better. They also need to trim the hedges at the entrance so you don't over shoot the driveway.

This is a gravel parking lot with hook ups. It's cheap and the 10 dollar rate reflects the monthly rate. They charge $100 for the week or $20 a day. Quite a few long time residents. Their hours that they conduct "business" leave a bit to be desired.

Website is deceiving, park has been open for about 2 years and they have made NO improvements. There are no laundry, shower or restroom facilities.

This place will suck the money out of your wallet. First of all, this place is great if your bringing the kids. Not a great place if you're just wanting a quiet place to hang out if you want to explore the area. Not only do they charge you for every little thing, my family who live in the area had to pay $18.00 to come to the campsite, which they got $10. back if they were gone by 11pm. Internet is free only 1 time a day for 1 hour. After that they charge extra for. They rent golf carts for $60. a day. No folks, that's no typo and you can't bring your own. They do offer lots of activities, but they really are geared for the kids.

This is a very nice place, quiet and extremely clean. Cable and Wi-Fi works great and the people who work here are very nice. Couldn't be more accommodating. I just wish they'd had a pool.

The park was convenient to Wal-Mart and restaurants. The staff is very friendly. The only complaint I had was the Wi-Fi was down more than it was up, hopefully they'll have it resolved soon.

This park has the potential of being a nice park, but the interior roads are full of pot holes and sites are in bad need of mowing. This park needs a maintenance person really bad. We paid for a month, but don't think we'll be staying that long. I don't think I'll come back as this park has turned into a real disappointment.

All concrete level pads. There is some train noise, but we've been here several weeks and hardly notice it anymore. Power is good. Lots of long term residents. About 1 mile east of I-35E at exit 399 (399 B if you're coming going south from Dallas).

This is a typical Louisiana bayou campground. It can be quite muddy when it rains and you can get your rig stuck, but there is a Cajun with a 4 wheel drive that would be willing to help haul you out. There is a menagerie of animals that run loose, so far I've seen goats, sheep, turkeys, chickens, peacocks and geese run through our site. Be warned, they have live music until 1 in the morning at the bar on site and it can be noisy, but so far it's only been on Saturday night.

According to their website, it states there is a hot tub, there isn't. We needed a 50 amp site and they stuck us in the back, and the wi fi didn't reach back here. My new computer couldn't pick it up at all. The folks up front were friendly, and park seems to be neat and clean. Voltage was a bit low, and water pressure isn't great. I could have stayed in town for half the money, but my husband wanted to use the hot tub and there wasn't one!

When we got here, the view was beautiful. The plane noise is disturbing and can be quite loud. It's now November and the city has bulldozed up the beach to create a sand dune and it blocks the entire ocean view. They are going to keep it that way until February. The sites are very close together, but all in all, I'd probably return.

This is a very high priced park, but essentially it's clean. It's basically a parking lot with hookups. The pool and hot tub were clean, but not very warm.

There are absolutely NO PULL THRUS, they have crammed each site about 2.5 ft. apart. The majority of the park sits east to west so awnings don't to much to shade your space in the evening. The pool and hot tub is very clean, as is the laundry and restrooms. Staff is very accommodating. The store closes at 5pm.

I would have to say their policy concerning children is very disappointing. Attention has been brought to this campground in recent news when they wouldn't allow a HIV child from using any of the facilities. Seems to me they are quite prejudiced instead of educating themselves. I RV 365 days a year and would think twice before giving them a hard earned dollar. If you can only use 1/2 of the facilities, shouldn't the rate be 1/2 price?

This is such a pricy park with few amentities. Granted there is a pool and very noisy hot tub. You can't carry on a conversation because of the racket. Pets are allowed, but expect to pay extra for them. My electric for last month was $163.00. Voltage is low and expect to have some power outages from time to time. No internet or modem to connect to internet. For such a nice park and not many modern amentities. Their excuse is that people are "camping" and don't want or need internet. Geesh.

We explained we needed to be in the area for a month. We could only go week to week and had to move every week. The way they do their reservations really leaves a lot to be desired. It costs $250 a week and had the inconvenience of moving every week. The showers were dreadful as they are the "state park" style and it's the same temp outside and inside. No place to put your things from getting wet. I had a frightening experience. I had my husband wait for me in the car while I showered, if he hadn't been there, God only knows what might have happened. I had him watch the door so no one could come in there while I was in there. And when I came out of the shower, a man pretended to be on talking on the telephone. One may also want to check the address on Familywatchdog.com. Scary !

This may be nice park, but the power is terrible and the people in the front office are nothing but rude and not at all helpful. The showers are DREADFUL and you'd get better at a state park. I had my husband wait for me in the car and when I came out of the shower, there was a man pretending to use the pay phone. I hate to think what would have happened if my husband hadn't been there. You get the "illusion" of safety with a guard/ranger, but anyone can get in this park simply stating "I'm a resident." I won't return.

I had stayed here before, but this trip was very disappointing. No cable available. The hot tub closed at 6 pm and their excuse, we just don't have the staff... yada yada... but they charge the same rates. "Free" breakfast starts at 8 am, but most early birds leave before then. The park next door offers a no frills deal for half the price. That may be the better deal.

Their premium site was so short, our 32' 5th wheel with truck (we didn't even drop trailer) stuck out into the road. Had to park extra vehicle in grass. This campground is way over-rated. The other campgrounds on this strip are the same but much cheaper. I don't mind paying for a premium site if I get a premium site. Needless to say, I won't come back to the KOA Nashville.

This was a nice clean well maintained park. We throughly enjoyed our visit here. We got here just as the snowbirds were descending on the park. They have well planned activities from bingo to pot luck suppers to wine and cheese get togethers to an exercise groups. We had a great back in site next to a pond and were able to feed the ducks and fish (they eat cheap dry cat food!). We loved it and would have loved to stay longer and we would love to go back.

This is a bare bones park, it is clean and quiet.

This is a very clean well laid out park. This was my 2nd time staying at this park. It's a bit hard to find from the highway, but there are 7 signs that are easy to miss. Their restaurant is top notch, but it's closed Sunday and Monday.

This park is what all parks should strive to emulate. It was very clean, easy to maneuver in and out. Would have loved to stay longer. Very friendly staff.

This is a bare bones park with no amentities. No pool and no cable. The laundry room is free which is nice. "Free" wifi is free, but you have to pay a $30.00 deposit for a "box." I connected with my Verizon card instead of hassling with the deposit as we will leave early in the morning. Sites are gravel next to a cow pasture. Kids would be bored out of their minds!

I chose this park because of it's rating. Boy was I disappointed. The signage getting into the park was minimal at best and you could easily drive past before the turn in. The turn around in the front was a terrible design as it was congested on this holiday weekend. Then we were only staying a day and they stick us way in the back where we had to walk 1/2 mile to the pool (there isn't any parking in the area for overflow parking) and hot tub. There certainly was quite a few sites open in the front. It would have been greatly appreciated to have some "adult" hours for the pool, as not all "campers" have children. The interior roads are very narrow and it takes some maneuvering to get large rigs in and the concrete pads are at least 2 to 4 inches above the road and it feels like you're jumping a curb. I'm just so greatly disappointed that this park was rated so high as were my expectations.

I gave this park a 10, because everything advertised WORKED and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Owner is considering putting in a hot tub, as the pool was clean and cool. The wifi was excellent considering I was put in a corner supersite that had a fire ring and nice picnic table. There is little noise that you can hear outside, but inside the RV, we didn't hear anything. I would definitely stay here again. An oasis in the desert.

This is the epitome of run down KOA. What a disappointment. With only less than 20 sites, 3/4 are full time residents so if you're just coming off the road, the only thing they have available is water and electric.

This is strictly a bare bones park. Rates were rather high considering there is no bath house or laundry facilities, which I consider a staple for a RV park. The folks are very friendly and helpful. Sites and interior roads are all gravel. Sites are level.

This is strictly a campground, nothing in this park suggests resort. They state that they have free wireless internet, but it is poor at best and if you complain to the owner, his statement is "Well it's free and if you get it, you get it and if you don't, sorry. The pool was never open because it was filthy and green. It is a quiet campground if you're looking for a no frills kind a place.

This is a very clean park. It's layout is not the best I've seen, it can be kind of hard to get your rig into. I would go back as it is the very best park in the area.

We found this to be a very quiet and well maintained park. We had the opportunity to be there for 2 1/2 months, and we would definately go back! This quiet picturesque park is in a shady grove of pecan trees with lots of squirrels and one chunky raccoon!

Very nice and clean, well maintained park. The Wi-Fi is free! Bonus! Adults are allowed to use pool/spa for 24 hours a day.

They don't tell you about the line of trees that cover the RR tracks and that the trains run every 45 minutes round the clock. The wi-fi is down more than it is up. Very nice people that run the campground. This is a good place to stop just for an overnight visit.

As someone who is RV'ing 345 days a year, this is one of the very best parks we've been in. The showers were very private and clean, the only drawback is that the showers are only open when the store/office is open. Same thing with the pool/spa. Sites are all concrete and level. This is what all campgrounds should acheive to be like.

I found this to be a very well maintained campground and we would definately go back. We have found that the staff were always very helpful and courteous. We had to have some work done on our rig so we essentially would have been homeless and the manager was nice enough to allow me and my husband to rent the apartment over the office. Thank you! As for the water situation, we were allowed to take as much bottled water as necessary and found it to be no big deal. We used the campground water to wash our clothes and dishes, we used antibacterial soap so I wasn't worried that we would become sick. We have to go back to Phoenix this summer and will be happy to go back home to Destiny.

We had to be in the area for about 2 months and chose Johnsons Corner because of it's beautiful photos and ratings. We had to pay a damage deposit just in case if we ran over the sewer or took out a fence. But the problem with this is that the sites are so crowded that our bedroom slide was about 6 inches from our neighbors dining/living room slide. In the evening as we were setting up our barbeque, the wind shifted and we caught the putrid aroma of the feedlot that is across the highway that isn't visible to the campground. We were not able to set up our satellite because of the trees and they did not offer cable. We paid for the month, but we had to leave early because we were literally forced inside our rig because of the nasty cow smell. They do allow pets, but they have pet restrictions and charge $1.00 per day per pet. They charge an extra charge for the phone, but I found out that all campers had to share 3 phone lines so you weren't allowed to get on the internet and stay for any length of time to allow all users to be able to use the phone. We just wouldn't go back. They charge to use the exercise facilities which were minimal at best.

We moved from Johnsons Corner to this park, big mistake! Both parks had bad qualities. While we were there, there are quite a few people who live there year round and the manager allows them to stack junk around their trailers and it looks very trashy. While we were there, I was coming home trying to get into the park and the police had the entrance barricaded with the yellow tape, so I park on the access road and hike in and ask one of the people in the sheriff's department what was going on and that I was staying at this RV park. I was told, that one of the RV'ers who was living there decided to commit suicide, by the police. Swat team-1, RV'er-0. Later when I and other campers were talking with the manager, she stated to us, "Those people are outta here!" I was like well of course, they carried him out in a body bag! Needless to say, we left.

We had to be in the area for about a month in the dead of winter. These kind people (they truly are exceptional hosts) opened up so we'd have a place to stay. They were great keeping the place plowed and clean. I'd come back and stay with them in a New York minute because they are really the exception to the rule.

This place is clean and well laid out, but they nickle and dime you on everything. We had to be there for a couple of months, so we had to pay $20.00 extra a month just to park our extra vehicle, had to pay .02 cents a minute for the phone service and since at the time they only had dial up service for the internet, this got costly. We paid $40.00 for the phone then .02 a minute as I stated above. They charged extra for pets (fortunately I didn't have one with us). At night when the wind was blowing just right, you could smell the winery next door and it smelled just like fermenting gym socks!

This campground definately qualifies as a burned out KOA. The trees aren't trimmed regularly and we had to back out of our site because the low limbs would've taken out our air conditioner. Voltage is low and we had to get a converter at Camping World so we didn't burn anything up in our rig. Campground employees that live on the property have at least 6 cats that are allowed to roam freely. Now I love animals very much, but I resented that I had those cats sleeping in my lawn chairs and pooping on my patio. When I put out moth balls under my RV to keep the cats away from our site, the manager complained that I might be killing the grass. I knew this wouldn't happen, but she sent the guy who cuts the grass to my site to pick up the moth balls. But you would think she care more about her guests who were paying rent or her employee. Oh well, we won't be back.

This used to be a KOA, but not a "burned out" KOA, as these owners have taken great pains to upgrade from the KOA lousy standards. The owners are wonderful and helpful people and go out of their way to be accomomdating. So if you go and stay, when you stop in the office/store, give Skeeter (the cat) a pat on the head, he is one silly cat!
